Someone is jealous they can't conceive...

I think Jeff is feeling a little inferior and a bit left out of this process. I've read it is normal for Daddy's to feel this way. I wanted to include him so we snapped a few shots of him as well. He makes a good looking pregnant man!

38 Weeks

We are at 38 weeks and 3 days, only 11 days to go until Baby Rosenlund's due date. It has been awhile since we have posted a belly shot so I thought I should get one before it is too late. There haven't been any real indications of an early arrival. I keep asking the Dr. each week are we getting closer and I keep getting the same response, 'hard to say, we just have to wait.' I guess we are all just on Baby's schedule now...

Guitar Heros

Rachel and Markham introduced Jeff to RockBand2 at their house after our little Santa Cruz BBQ the other weekend. Jeff had such a good time that I bought him his own Guitar Hero World Tour set the other day.
Those of you who know Jeff, you know that somewhere along the career path he took a wrong turn and missed his true calling of becoming a rock star. This is as close as I think we are going to get to putting him back on track. He's been practicing and rocking out and was excited to have company on the 4th of July to complete his band.
I must say, there is a reason you don't see very pregnant guitar players. The belly really gets in the way...

Saturday in Santa Cruz

It has been a pretty mild summer so far in Northern California. I am not complaining, since I am running a few degrees hotter while I incubate Baby Rosenlund. We did finally have a gorgeous weekend and Jeff and I headed down to Santa Cruz for a BBQ at Rachel and Markham's house. We didn't make it down to the water but we did take a short walk around West Cliff so Baby Rosenlund could get his first whiff of the ocean air. I can't wait to take him to the beach for the first time...

Happy 4th of July

Another Independence Day celebrated in San Ramon. This is our 5th year celebrating in the backyard followed by the fireworks show on the ridge. Typically this is an all day event we kick off with margaritas by the pool. Oh how I miss margaritas by the pool! This year we went a little low key with Baby Rosenlund expected in less than two weeks.

CC, Justin, Hovsep, Aline, and Gina joined us. We were very honored to spend Aline's first 4th of July in the States with her...yeah! Jeff BBQ'd it up for us before we headed over for the show. It was chilly again this year with what I would call something a little stronger than a 'breeze.' You can see Hovsep all bundled up below...and he comes from Canada. Jeff and I will have to work on controlling the weather for next year, but until we master that we always provide jackets and blankets.

A great show with some really good fireworks. Gina and I were amazed and wonder how they make fireworks and bundle in the designs. So, I'm reading up while I am on maternity leave...

Welcome Tatum Grace Sanchez!

Melissa and Carlos introduced Tatum Grace Sanchez to the world on Monday, June 29th. She is a healthy baby girl weighing 8lbs 12ozs, and measuring 20 in. She is beautiful! This is potentially our future daughter-in-law, so Jeff and I were very excited to meet her. We figure if the inlaws get along that is the most important part of a relationship, the two kids will learn to love each other from there...

Carlos let Jeff practice his swaddling technique that he had learned a week before in our Baby Basics class. Tatum seemed to be impressed by Uncle Jeff's swaddle and went down for a little nappy after that.

Finally....we have our crib!

For those of you that have listened to me complain and stress over the last few weeks about my crib, your pain is over. We finally have a crib for our little man.

I ordered a crib and dresser from an online store the first of MARCH and they said it would ship the end of April. Here we are in June and after telling me three times my items would ship they still have not shipped my crib and dresser (CSNbaby.com by the way, I cannot recommend them to anyone!). I couldn't take it anymore... the nesting instinct was taking over so I went to Babies 'r Us and ordered another set which showed up in 6 days.

We picked it up last night after work and came straight home to put it together. Lucky for Daddy it was very easy to assemble and 30 min. later I was putting my bedding set on it. Very exciting, we can't stop opening the nursery door and looking at it. We are 6 weeks away from 'D Day'...

Week 33

Saturday marked the beginning of week 33. Here are some new shots of the belly. It is quite humbling when you can no longer do your everyday tasks...like bend over to tie your shoe. I have to admit I am becoming more uncomfortable everyday, and I am sure he is too as he runs out of room in there. I can't tell which way he is laying but some part of him has made a permanent home under my right ribcage and all I can say about that is ...ouch!

Jeff and I are going in for our checkup tomorrow which includes another ultrasound. We are checking to see if Baby Rosenlund has turned and is getting ready to head down south in a few weeks. It will be good to see him again, our last ultrasound was 12 weeks ago.

Wicked...maybe the Witch of the West had bad pregnancy hormones?

On Friday night, Jeff, Baby Rosenlund, and I went to see 'Wicked' at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco. The tickets were Jeff's Valentine's Day gift to me this year. I had waited anxiously for the show date to arrive and it was well worth the wait. The show was great...an interesting spin on a childhood favorite, very entertaining!

I just asked Jeff what he would like to add about the show and all he had to say about it was...'my chair was really uncomfortable...'

Baby Rosenlund could definitely hear the music! I couldn't really tell which song was his favorite because he responded to quite a few. I have to admit I was a little worried that my frequent trips to the restroom would be a problem, but fear not, I did make it to intermission.

Is this Bouncer for me?

As much as we try to keep the door to the nursery closed, occasionally when Jeff and I are in there we have a break in. I found Puddy the other day enjoying his new Bouncer. He simply looked up at me and with those lazy eyes asked, "Is this Bouncer for me?" It was very cute, but I had to kick him out...

Thank you to my Hostesses

I have to dedicate a special post to my two shower hostesses, Melissa and CC. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You created a perfect day for me and I appreciate all the work you put into pulling this shower together.

Did I mention that the three of us are all expecting? Melissa and Carlos are having their second, a little girl at the end of June, then Baby Rosenlund, and finally we are very excited that Baby Mauch will be coming in November. CC and Justin are going to torture us and keep the baby's sex a surprise. How cruel! CC, your shower will be coming up next...

A few shots of our baby loot!

We received lots of great presents from our friends and family. Here are just a few shots of our loot! Boppys, and Bouncers, and Blankies...oh my! Onesies, Books, Toys, and Baby's First Swim Outfit for Hawaii in September!

Melissa also had the guests sign our first set of diapers. Everyone wrote 'words of wisdom' to keep us going for our first few weeks of late night changes. A few of my favorites; "Keep My Cheeks Clean," "Better You Than Me," and "Use a Cloth Diaper to Cover the Little Fire Hose!"

Baby Shower!

On Mother's Day weekend, (how fitting for a soon-to-be mother) I was showered with gifts for the new Baby Rosenlund! Melissa and CC hosted my shower on May 9th at our place in San Ramon.

Let's start back at the beginning with the fact that Melissa send out the cutest shower invitation I have ever seen! Then, with a little help from Jeff who deserves credit, the girls decorated the backyard for the afternoon. I loved the green and brown themed decorations and the little details like the flowers and favors were perfect!
I am pregnant so I can't forget to mention the food. All of my favorites were present; cheese plate, yummy tea sandwiches (CC even took off the crust on the bread) and the most amazing CUPCAKES! CC catered to my request and made mini red velvet and carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Hypothetically, how many normal size cupcakes do you think 15 minis is equal to?

It was a perfect day and I had such a good time. Thank you all for coming and for all the wonderful gifts! I am truly blessed to have such amazing friends!

Dinner Out, Baby Loves Blue Plate

It is official...Baby Rosenlund has a new favorite restuartant in the city , Blue Plate in the Mission. Jeff and I took Katy and Justin out to dinner to celebrate their upcoming wedding. Unfortunately, we probably won't be making it to their wedding across the pond at Katy's Auntie's farm in England. We are so disappointed...but Baby Rosenlund is due on July 18th and they are getting maried less than a month after in August.
Food was amazing, company was great, it was good to get out for the night...

Mr. Rarh's New Friend

Mr. Rarh has been spending some quality time in the nursery. Last night he made a new friend, the Baby's little lambie. The two are now inseparable.

Belly Shots

Here are a few shots of the belly at 29 weeks. How many times in my life will I say, 'If I would have known what I know now...I never would have done that?' I am speaking of course of the tattoo I put on my belly at 16 years old. The tattoo has migrated from the left side of my belly to almost front and center and now in the last week it has grown in size. I am scared of what the end result will be!!
Other than that, Jeff and I are in love with the belly at 7 months.

Week 26

We spent Easter at Grandma Sharon's and took this shot while we were relaxing in the backyard enjoying the 70 degree weather.
This picture marks 26 weeks. We've come a long way (in size) since the last blog post. I am weighing in at a gain of 24lbs as of the last checkup on Monday.
